David Elliot pursuit resembles Fergus Falls chase that ended in county attorney’s death

On December 22, 2014, Timothy Rundquist, 52, an assistant county attorney for Stevens County, Fergus Falls City Council member, and Minnesota State University-Moorhead instructor, died after a high speed chase from police in Otter Tail County. Rundquist died at the end of a chase that began when he fled a highway patrolman that attempted to pull him over for going 66 in a 55. The inexplicable decision by a law abiding citizen to suddenly flee police for a very minor traffic infraction closely resembles the bizarre chase of David Elliot in Grand Forks, that ended in a UND police officer shooting Elliot in the Altru parking.
